The 5 Best Skincare Practices to Beat the Winter Wind

The 5 Best Skincare Practices to Beat the Winter Wind | Fearfully Fashioned

With the harsh winter weather that has been brought to us by magnanimous blizzards, below freezing temperatures, and frigid winds, the weather has been whipping our butts. The battle against dry and crusty skin is on! With no moisture in the air, it can be hard to maintain soft and moisturized skin. Here are 5 skincare tips to revive your skin this winter.

Eat Clean.

Your diet is key to maintaining healthy skin. Remember that you are what you eat. Foods packed with rich omega 3 fatty acids such as walnuts, salmon, and flax seeds are great to restore hydration and elasticity in your skin.

Create a Skincare Routine.

A skincare routine is a great to have as a preventative measure against any dryness, oiliness, or flare ups that make occur. Make sure that you develop a routine based on your skin type

Moisturize

It’s important that you hydrate from the inside and out. The best way to ensure that your skin is staying hydrated is to drink tons of water. To see how much water you should be drinking, The Slender Kitchen has a great guide for how much water you should consume based on your body weight.

Stop going to bed with make up on.

We are all guilty of sleeping in our makeup sometimes. Some of us just like to keep a beat face, while the rest of us are too tired to take our makeup off. You don’t want the germs and bacteria of the day incubating on your skin while you sleep. If you’re too tired to do your full routine, keep a package of make up wipes by your bed to swipe it off before you go to sleep.

Regularly clean your makeup tools.

When is the last time you’ve done your brush laundry? 3 months? A year? I won’t judge you. I won’t discuss how much bacteria builds up in our makeup brushes. Not only can the accumulation in your brushes break you out, but it can also affect the application of your makeup. You don’t need a fancy expensive brush cleaner to cleanse your brushes. Try using baby shampoo to get the job done.
