Joelle Rose Angel is #FearfullyFashioned. She lives and works in Boston with her husband, Nasry. After divine inspiration from spending time in prayer, Joelle was led to launch MySundayDress.com. Originally it started as a blog that later expanded to Youtube, where she addresses relevant topics facing Christian women today.

Joelle is highly passionate about encouraging and challenging women toward Christ. Always standing firm in who God created her to be, she chose to stand out from the crowd. Now she encourages women to do the same by instructing them on how to discover and develop their passions.

What is your God-given purpose and how are you currently living it out?

I am on a constant journey of discovering my purpose, sometime it even feels like it changes from month to month. What doesn’t change are my passions. I am passionate about encouraging and challenging ladies toward Christ. I also love fashion, entrepreneurship and photography. My current path has lead me to open up an online shop that sells chic Christian graphic tees, you can check them out at mysundaydress.com.

What is one of the biggest challenges you had to overcome to pursue your God-given purpose and goals?

I struggle with discipline and consistency. I will be extremely passionate one day about a project I’m working on, but I struggle to maintain that passion day after day. It was a challenge to be able to keep up momentum during times when I wasn’t seeing a lot of growth in my blog or company.

What is your definition of success and stance on failure?

Success stems from having a close relationship with God. Being in a place where you can hear from Him, and receive peace and security from Him daily. God desires the best for us, and wants us to use the passions He has given us. When you fail, don’t make yourself the victim, see what you can improve or do differently, and always learn from your mistakes.

If you could go back in time, what is one piece of advice that you would give to yourself?

I would tell myself to take action sooner. Don’t wait for someone else to create your dreams; do it yourself. With God you have all you need to be successful.

What is one of your major characteristics that has contributed to where you are right now?

Growing up I always felt a little different than my classmates. I wasn’t wearing, saying, or doing what everyone else was. Instead of changing myself to fit it, I just chose to stand out. This has allowed me to embrace being different and stand out from a crowd. This skill is crucial in living out God’s purpose for me, because with the topics I cover I often put myself in a vulnerable and exposed place.

What is your go-to bible verse that keeps you going?

"Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."                - Philippians 4:4-7

Define what "fashion your life” means to you.

Fashion your life means that with God’s direction, you have the power to create the life you want to live.

What advice would you give to women who are also looking to fashion their life according to God’s will and purpose?

Never give up on you, and don’t change yourself for anyone. If I had made fitting in more important than staying true to myself, I would have never started my blog or t-shirt company, I wouldn’t have married my sweet husband, or been able to meet many of the people I know.

What does it mean to know that you are #FearfullyFashioned?

God created me with a purpose, I’m here for a reason!
